Short CV

Dr. Gortzis is a fellow at the Medical Physics Department of University of Patras and at the Laboratory for Graphics, Multimedia and GIS of the Department of Computer Engineering and Informatics (CEID) of University of Patras. He is also currently an adjunct Professor at Technological Educational Institute (T. E. I.) of Patras- Department of Informatics and MM.
He holds the B.Sc., M.Sc. and PhD degrees in Medical Physics and Medical Informatics. His PhD thesis was under the title ''Design Methodologies for Supporting Telediagnostic and Telesurgical Services Over Web''.
His research interests include the design and evaluation of telemedicine services and collaborative clinical systems, and the use of information technology to increase patient's safety.
He is the designer of many collaborative clinical systems, which are already in use at the University Hospital of Patras. His publication record  includes two monographs, one book, four chapters and several articles in peer-reviewed Journals and Conference proceedings in the field of medical informatics.
